Supporting Smallholder Crop

Smallholder crop is coffee that was farmed from small scale or family farming. A smallholder farmer owns a small plot of land, uses rudimentary means of farming, and have limited or no access to finance. The farmer is vulnerable of getting locked in unhelpful relationship with big traders who hold the power and exploitatively push the crop price down.

Coffee Heritage Project believes that the success of smallholder farming is one of the surest ways to relieve poverty in coffee growing communities and is committed to empowering local smallholder farmers by actively buying smallholder crop and sharing knowledge on growing quality-focused coffee. If local smallholder coffee farmers are to survive and prosper in a global free market against efficient, well-supported, and increasingly mechanized agri-businesses, Coffee Heritage Project acknowledges that they can do so on the basis of producing exceptional coffee quality.
